Classically trained at the American College of the Building Arts, with a bachelor’s degree and a craft specialization in traditional three-coat lime plaster. The program combined hands-on plasterwork with architectural history and material science, which is why this shop uses methods and materials that belong on the building instead of modern substitutes. Internship work under one of New York’s leading plaster studios sits on top of that training. All work follows the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.

A lot of damage starts with the wrong material or the wrong sequence. Consultation covers what the building actually needs, which repairs come first, and which modern products will cause another failure in five years. That includes lime versus Portland, plaster versus compound, and whether the wall can take a patch or needs to be rebuilt. The point is to protect the structure’s look, its life, and its historic fabric before the work starts.
